Never kick a lucky penny.

I don't actually think that lucky pennies have any impact on things that happen, but still... you have to be careful.

This morning we woke up and it was still raining just as hard as it had been when we went to bed. I was definitely bummed out. We left the hotel to go get some breakfast and as we were walking down the hallway, I saw a penny laying heads up on the ground. Usually, if I see a penny on the ground I'll either [a] pick it up if it's heads up, or [b] flip it over if it's tails up, so that the next person who sees it will find it heads up. I don't know why I do this. Anyway, this one was heads up, which should've been lucky, but instead of picking it up, I kicked it down the hall. It kept raining and we went to IHOP and I had some awesome strawberry cheesecake pancakes, which kind of sound gross, but were really delicious. And it kept raining. We went back to the hotel to change clothes before heading to the ballpark just to see what was happening. My little brother found the same penny I had kicked, it was heads up, and he said, "Look a lucky penny!" So we went to the stadium, and since the game hadn't been cancelled yet, we hung around for a while. And... it kept raining. They actually did end up playing about three innings, with a rain delay before they started, another one after two innings, and then another one after the end of the third inning, and that's when they decided to just call it. I was happy we got to see them play a little bit, but I was really disappointed because the rain really ruined all the fun things about spring training. If it had been good weather, I would've gotten there as soon as the gates opened and camped out beside the outfield wall and gotten tons of autographs and pictures. Spring training is amazing for that. You can get so close to these major leaguers... you can't do that at regular season games at the big stadiums. So I'm still pretty bummed about the day, even though we got to see a tiny bit of baseball and I got some good pictures. So maybe my brother finding the lucky penny helped a little bit, but not much.

Oh, and I called the guy about that job... apparently it didn't matter that I waited two days to call.

Also: anytime you happen to be in Orlando, go to Flipper's Pizza. It's pretty delicious stuff.

So we're leaving in the morning. It's been a good week, and I'm pretty sad about leaving. I love being on vacation and I hate the thought of going back to school. But I love long car rides, and I miss people back home, so I guess I'll survive. :)
